Brand new MP3 Player that was tested and working.
Avx was the Buyer on December 10, 2005 RedFlagDeals
Buyer possibly broke mp3 player and tried to get me to refund it. Symptoms described are that of a dropped unit
http://www.computing.net/hardware/wwwboard/forum/39238.html
Are the exact symptoms he told me, and he did admit to successfully transfering files to the player previously, a little slip on his part perhaps.
Also all units were tested prior to sale. And his wait time to tell me of anything wrong was a very long time.
His pm's were nice though, so I have no doubt he is a nice guy. Perhaps his sister dropped it and was too scared to tell him. I have all the logs/transaction reports if anyone is interested.
Several other buyers purchased the same player worth $250 for $100 and they've had no problems, so it is unlikely the player had any problems, until it was dropped. The unit non working also is still worth more than the price he purchased it for.
Response from Avx1. I didn\'t ask for a refund, simply an exchange, I also offered to return the unit, and buy another one at half the cost (essentially sharing the cost of the defective unit). I also suggested a partial credit for future purchases (mod chips, whatever), so I thought I was pretty flexible considering that I have never heard a song off the player.
2. I did say that I was able to transfer songs onto the player, but I never tried listening to it... I simply put the songs on, and give it to my sister as a gift. She called me back the same day telling me that there was no sound coming out from the player (it would display that the song was playing, but there\'s no sound, regardless of using different headphones, plugging in the remote/not using the remote). I reported this in 10 days (as soon as I found out), and to give you credit, you did offer suggestions that I passed along to my sister to try out. It wasn\'t until about a week later that the unit just stopped working completely (stuck at the initial screen).
3. I\'m not sure how you could test the BNIB units, as there was no songs on the MP3 player when I start putting songs on it... and the battery was not charged (although I guess you could use a seperate battery for testing purposes). I guess you could have put songs on, tested the unit, then delete the songs off the player... not sure though.
Seller was nice and did offer help, and I think this was just a case of a bad mp3 player that neither of us knew about... if the chance arise, I would buy from him again giving all his positive feedbacks. I guess this is just a warning that even when you buy BNIB and the seller has great feedback, just test the thing as soon as possible and ensure it works.December 11, 2005
